Biochemistry Class Notebook

Post comments, criticisms and questions you may have in Biochemistry to help this blog develop. Use this as often as you need. The more we communicate...the more you learn. This material assumes an advanced understanding of biology and chemistry as all of these videos are created after the actual lecture presentations on the topics. Send me your comments!!

Summer time...and the livin' is easy...

That's right. All done for another summer of kicking back, relaxin', readin', writing and some overall reflectin'. Tenure decision approaching in December so will be getting my show together to present to the jury. Regardless of the outcome I've been bless to be a part of this and look forward to continuing my Biochemistry Notebook wherever I might be.

Introduction to Biochemistry

I welcome your comments here after or before your class. Suggestions for topics and clarification may be and are encouraged to be posted here. You can be anonymous or you may identify yourself. I especially would like to see comment strings, that is, what you think about what someone else has said. Come here often to review material covered in lecture. Although I am not teaching lecture this semester you may still inquire of me with questions and comments. I am available to discuss these with you and will always support your instructor's efforts.

Chapter 1 part 2

Chapter 1 contains a discussion of thermodynamics. Your comments are always welcomed. Enthalpy, entropy and free energy changes lie underneath all biochemistry reactions driving them to completion and initiating the next reaction. Carefully read your chapter and search for other sources to reinforce these concepts.
